Cream Cheese Fruit Dip

This cream cheese fruit dip is made with Greek yogurt for extra protein, lightly sweetened and great for scooping with your favorite fruits!

Hi friends!

A couple of weeks ago, we had my parents over for dinner and my mom brought a version of this cream cheese fruit dip for the kids to eat. When I played sports in high school one of the moms always seemed to bring this to our team dinners and it was always a fan favorite.

I decided to see if I could put a bit of a healthier spin on it since my kids enjoyed it so much. So I used low-fat cream cheese, swapped plain Greek yogurt for butter and reduced the sugar and guess what? My kids still gobble it up!

Marshmallow Cream Cheese Fruit Dip

Most versions of this dip use cream cheese and marshmallow fluff. While delicious, I was going for a healthier spin. Plain Greek yogurt adds some protein to the dip and makes it a little heartier. It also reduces the sugar content of the dip and since you’re dipping it in fruit, which is already sweet, that works out just fine.

How To Make Cream Cheese Fruit Dip

This dip couldn’t be easier and you only need 5 ingredients! Just collect the following ingredients, mix them up and serve.

  • 1 package cream cheese – You can use regular or 1/3 less fat. You want it room temperature so it mixes easily with the yogurt.
  • Plain Greek yogurt – I use full fat but 2% or fat-free would probably be fine.
  • Powdered sugar – The original recipe uses a mix of brown sugar and powdered sugar but I think powdered sugar blends in the best
  • Vanilla extract
  • Mini chocolate chips – you could use regular chocolate chips but mini works better in my opinion. You could also try sprinkles!
  • Things to dip – fruit like strawberries, grapes, etc. Crackers like graham crackers and nilla wafers are great too!

Mix everything together, stir in the chocolate chips and stick it in the fridge. It will thicken up a bit as the cream cheese gets colder.
