Midwest Cat-lovers Purr: Meow Meet-Up Chicago Comes To The Windy City
Cat conventions are popping up all over the world, from Los Angeles to New York and many places in between! Speaking of cat conventions in between LA and NY is Meow MeetUp Chicago! The conference promises to be the largest cat conference in the Midwest!
Founder, Lauren Mieli, started Meow MeetUp Chicago as an extension of her well-known blog, The Catnip Times.
āWeāve always tried to blend interesting and educational content with fun cat content, like crazy cat videos and memes. Meow MeetUp was the logical next step to bring cat lovers together to collectively celebrate their love of cats with other like-minded cat lovers! Where & When
Meow MeetUp Chicago is happening on July 21 and July 22, 2018 (a Caturday and Sunday) at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Il (which is adjacent to Chicago and only 4 minutes from OāHare International Airport.

The event has a roster of prominent veterinary speakers from the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) to talk about variety of topics including practical ways to enrich your catās environment, strategies for fighting the obesity epidemic in cats, managing the most common diseases in cats, how to choose the right vet for your cat(s) and so much more.
Participate in Many Activities
So many fun and engaging activities are planned for attendees including:
- A Feline Film Festival sponsored by the uber-popular duo Cole & Marmalade!
- A Cat CafƩ to enjoy refreshments and hang out with adoptable cats!
- Kitty Yoga sessions for all levels. No special attire required! And participants get their own yoga mat to take home!
- Kitty Adoption Lounge where dozens of adoptable cats and kittens will be looking for their furever families.
- Meet & Greets with Chicago-based catlebrities from Instagram (these cats have serious followings because theyāre seriously cute!)
