Japanese Themed Cat Toys for Cool Kats by Munchiecat! – Katzenworld

Hi everyone,

Our feline overlords would like to let you know that we’ve further expanded our Cat toys by munchiecat range.

About Munchiecat:

Munchiecat’s toys are made from durable, non-toxic materials, so you can feel good about offering them to your cat. Plus, unlike many other pet toys, our toys are designed to be safe. We don’t use small plastic parts, feathers, string or beads that could break off and pose a serious safety issue. In fact, we follow strict safety guidelines and constantly try to improve through our customers’ feedback and extensive research.

Each toy is infused with organic catnip. Some include crinkle paper, while others have rattles or bells securely sewn inside. Our toys are designed for both solo and interactive play time with their humans because playing with your cat not only keeps them healthy and happy; it also forges a stronger bond between you.

=^..^=

Welcome SUSHI & CAT LOVERS

Finally! A toy for the cat with a more refined culinary palate!

“Sushi” by Munchiecat is a plush sushi toy set that will stimulate your kitty’s natural instincts to explore and play, and satisfy the need all cats have for a sophisticated and well-cultured experience.

These soft and durable toys are the perfect size for some serious playtime by your favorite feline!

The Nigiri toys are each infused with a generous amount of catnip while the Maki toys come with a bell inside to offer a variety of fun entertainment.

Design

Their design goal for the sushi set was to keep it simple. Simple designs are safe. They reduce the chances of tears, breaks, and choking. No need for fancy stitching, beads, paint, additional ink or printing designs which add to the cost and increase health risks for your cats.

Simple designs = high quality & low cost.

But the brand hasn’t just stopped with sushi since we first met them! They’ve added many more interesting designs such as the Wagashi such as the lovely Sakura Set,Taiyaki or even japanese style ice cream!

Munchiecat – Taiyaki Organic Catnip Toy Wagashi – (Available as Single or Double Pack)

Elevate your cat’s playtime with these super soft and adorably sweet little treats. Japanese for cherry blossom, these “Sakura” toys are sure to please with catnip, crinkle, and bells.

What is Wagashi? “Wagashi” is Japanese for “sweet, dessert or treat”, and each toy is designed in the style of the creator’s favorite Japanese snacks and treats. She endeavored to bring the same level of care and attention to detail and design to her catnip wagashi as is given to creating human wagashi .

How many pet toys would you call “beautiful”? Probably not many. I mean, you’ve been in pet shops, right? I could never find any. Munchiecat was born from her desire to change that — to make toys that would wow both cats and their humans.

Her designs focus on visual elegance for the humans, enjoyability for the cats and safety for everyone. That means each piece is precision-sewn from durable yet minky soft plush. And no beads, paints, feathers, strings or anything that could pose a hazard.

Top it all off with a generous infusion of potent catnip and you’ve got most beautifully designed toys for cats…that keeps humans in mind too.

And if that isn’t enough yet… you can also find cheese, olives and figs in the range of this brand!

We hope you like the look of these toys as much as we do. Please do check them out in our blog shop here. All purchases support our blog and the cats aka masters of mischief. 😀

Thanks,

Marc

Blast from the Past: Fun with the Premium Rustling Cushion Cat Toy by 4cats – Katzenworld

Hi everyone,

Some of you may remember me the little Ha’Penny and the fun I had with one of the fabulous 4cats toys that my friends always get to dig their claws in. 😀

Ha’Penny: Oh Hi there human! So you want to video me with the toy? 😀 Of course!

Ha’Penny: So why is the premium rustling cushion so good? Well for starters it either comes with the top-secret 4cats in-house formula of catnip which works on plenty more cats than usual or of course their valerian filling but in addition to that it also has those fun tassels!!! 4cats has designed them to be sturdy and securely attached so that us felines can’t pull them off easily. 🙂

Tassels make a great extra bit of fun and engagement for us younger cats that might not yet re-act to cat attract yet. It’s actually a little known fact that young kittens often haven’t developed the attraction to catnip and need to mature before the alluring effect works on us. 😀

Furthermore the large cushion has a layer of parchment paper hidden inside it to give it an extra rustling noise which I love! Not too loud and not too quiet so purrfect for our sensitive hearing.

Oliver with the Premium Rustling Cushion

Ha’Penny: Uncle Oliver, old as he is, of course goes absolutely bonkers on the catnip toy! ;o

Ha’Penny: Either way… I shall not return this cat toy and my humans will need to get out another one for the rest of the clowder. 😉

4cats Valerian Cat Toy Review by Cat Behaviour Expert Anita Kelsey – Katzenworld

Tested exclusively on cats by Anita Kelsey

I am very lucky that I work with cats everyday! All sorts of breeds, temperaments, ages and sizes! Perfect then to try out various cat products for cat product companies.

On this note; meet the wonderful cat toy company called 4cats. Those toys are available in the Katzenworld Blog Shop.

I was sent a huge variety of valerian cat toys to try out on my furry clients which was really exciting for me. All shapes and size cat teaser toys filled with Valerian from fried eggs to large fat sausage shaped valerian kickers.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

First of all. What is Valerian you may well ask?

Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) has tiny, sweet smelling flowers that grow in bunches, and jagged leaves. But it’s not the flower or the leaves that get cats excited: it’s the root. Like Catnip, smelling valerian root sends cats into a euphoric frenzy. And like catnip, no one knows exactly why! More information is written about here.

Like Catnip, Valerian is safe for cats although, from a human point of view, can be rather stinky. Think old socks :-)… However, our cats love the smell so, I’m afraid, that is that!

I’m still trying the toys out on cat grooms and cat behaviour consultations but so far the results have been brilliant. All catties have given a high five paw as you can see from the You Tube videos below.

From a human point of view the toys are very well made, colourful, fun and easily stored away. The only downside is that Valerian is slightly stinky but this can easily be overcome! Stop smelling it and give it to your cats to smell instead 😉

From a cat’s point of view. The toys are easy to batt, toss, lick, kick and rub on. They come in different textures and are fun, simple, safe toys to leave around the home. The smell of the Valerian seems to last longer than catnip too which is great value for money. Like Catnip, it gives a little high for your cat to kick back and let their fur down.

Not all cats react to Valerian or Catnip but most do so great toys for xmas.

I especially like the Cat Wrestler toy which came in very handy on my grooms with some of the larger breeds; Maine Coons, Norwegian Forest and Siberians. However, as you can see from the photo below, every cat likes to have a fun kicking session and it’s great that the kicking doesn’t end up on our arms, hands or feet!!

So, to the 4cats company I give 5 out of stars! Great product, especially coming up to xmas. Get buying folks!!!

Funtastic fun with Toys! – Katzenworld

Christmas came early at the zoo this year. Marc kindly asked if we wanted to test some of the 4cats toys and with ten cats at home, I jumped at the chance. The box arrived very quickly and the cats didn’t waste any time gathering around. I did have plans to take my camera to the local wildlife reserve, but as they were already ripping the cardboard to shreds, I decided to open it up and have a little photo shoot instead.

The first thing that I noticed was how well the toys were made. Safety has always been a big concern and yet I couldn’t fault any of the items. There was a good selection too. Large and small, all very colourful and the cats wasted no time piling in. Even Gremlin our Devon Rex, who normally wouldn’t get so close to the others. Then Merlin walked in, rolled over and started washing one of the large cuddly knots. At the grand old age of 16, he still goes out in the garden, but we haven’t seen him play with a toy for many years.

The featured image above shows timid little Foxy who fell in love with the heart.

Keeping a close eye on her new heart toy.

She ran off with it once her session was over.

Finally Buddy playing with one of the colourful sacks called rustling cushion.

It was quite soggy by the time he had finished.

In the end, I had more photographs than if I had gone to the reserve and the cats are thrilled with their new toys. Thank you very much for letting us test these fun cat products. If you’d like to get some they are available for international delivery via the Katzenworld shop.

DAYTIME DRAMA FOR CATS: The Adventures of Jakie and His Toys (As told to Cathi Turow) Episode 2 – Katzenworld

Hello! I’m Jakie the Cat. Welcome to my Daytime Drama. Episode 2.

It’s time for breakfast. My humom is making herself sunny side up eggs.  Her favorite. And mine.

We have the same battle every morning. I want some, but the sunny side up egg belongs to humom. Why does this always happen? Day after day? Week after week?

Hey wait! Today might be different. My humom is opening a package from 4cats toy.  It looks like a soft cloth fried egg! And it’s filled with catnip!

I just overheard my humom say you can get this fried egg filled with catnip or valerian.  Best of all, from now on, every morning, my humom and I can both enjoy our fried eggs.

But mine will last longer. It fits perfectly between my paws.

And so ends another episode of my Daytime Drama. See you next time!

Chai & Buddy having fun with 4cats toys – Katzenworld

I have to thank Marc once again for another box of the latest 4cats toys to test. The box arrived quickly, but because I was about to take a short photography break, I put them away in a cupboard. The cats had already smelled the toys and wanted to know why I wasn’t dishing them out now!! Luckily they forgot after a while and I finally brought the box out a few days ago. Now, our house is very old and dark. The only room with decent natural light is our bedroom, which is on a small landing on the way to the attic. The only space is on our bed, which was covered in a fluffy throw for the photo shoot.

The whole session turned into a disaster, or a comedy sketch, depending on your point of view. Most of our 11 cats flooded on to the bed and the toys were being tossed right, left and centre. My poor husband had been instructed to keep just one cat on the bed, which turned out to be easier said than done. Within minutes, the toys had been drooled over and we had to keep changing them because the soggy parts were showing up in my images.

One of their favourites was the Premium Cat Wrestler, as modelled by Chai in the image featured above. I have never seen such a sturdy cat toy and in the following days, they have often dragged it out of their toy box downstairs. I can see this lasting for ever, which is quite a claim having a house full of such young and playful cats.

Buddy loved it too, as can be seen from the photograph below.

Another favourite was the Premium Motif Cushion with added strings and tassels. They already have some 4Cats cushions, but the strings really encourage them to play. Here are two photographs of Buddy, firstly checking out the cushion and then moving on to some serious play. Just check out the length of that tongue!

DAYTIME DRAMA FOR CATS: The Adventures of Jakie and His Toys (As told to Cathi Turow) Episode 3 – Katzenworld

Hello! I’m Jakie the Cat.  Welcome to my Daytime Drama. Episode 3.

Today, we have a medical emergency. I accidentally played too hard with my toy, Frankie. I ripped off his eye and tore the ribbons on his tail. I didn’t mean to hurt him. Can we save Frankie???

My humom is taking a look. She sees his stick is still in good condition and so is his string. But the rest of him won’t make it. This is the saddest day of my life.

My humom is performing surgery.

Look!  She’s getting something new from a 4cats toy package! It’s two, long, sleek feathers and a fuzzy feather attached to a loop!  And I saw on the package, you can get the fuzzy feather in purple or blue!  I got purple!

My humom is tying the Replacement Cat Teaser Feather to Frankie’s old string, and making it into…a new toy!  Yaaaaay!

It’s gonna be so fun to play with!  I can tug and swat at the feathers! They’re cool colors! They’ll  swing so fast! It looks light but also sturdy! Yipeeee!

Playing with my new feather toy won’t be the same as playing with Frankie…

But…it’ll be just as much fun in a different way.

And so ends another episode of my Daytime Drama. See you next time!

DAYTIME DRAMA FOR CATS: The Adventures of Jakie and His Toys (As told to Cathi Turow) Episode 1 – Katzenworld

Hello!  I’m Jakie the Cat. Welcome to my Daytime Drama.

In today’s episode, it’s my birthday.  I hope I get a new toy. My favorite toys are the ones on sticks that dangle from strings. I have five of them and I gave them all names. Here they are: Frankie, Martha, Alfred, Felicia, and Fuzzy…

Hey look!  My humom is opening a new package from 4cats! I love, love, love their toys! It’s gotta be a new toy for me! It’s gotta be!

I guess I was wrong.  It isn’t a new toy.  It’s just a rectangle with Velcro and a pocket. Although…I just overheard my humom say it’s called a Cat Scratch Tree Cuff. And it fits across most scratching posts that are 8-12 cm in diameter. What does that mean?

Hey wait! My humom just wrapped the rectangle around my scratching post. It holds together with Velcro. What’s going on?

My humom just stuck one of my toys in the pocket! That looks like fun!

Wow! My humom stuck all my toys around the Cat Scratch Tree Cuff. And you know what? She just made a new toy out of all my old toys!  I gotta try it out!

This is the greatest! This is the best birthday present ever! Every cat should have a Cat Scratch Tree Cuff!

I’m Victorious!  And so ends an episode of my Daytime Drama. See you next time!
